An Unforgettable Weekend for Danse Mode-Action

Last weekend, the dance competition The Beat took place at La Tohu in Montreal. Dancers from all over Quebec participated, including the groups, solos, and duo from Danse Mode-Action. The results were impressive for DMA, as they won numerous awards.
The awards for our competitive troupes are as follows:
The MegaCrew (Hip-Hop), under the artistic direction of France Dionne, Vannyda Mom, Jade Da Ponte, and Camille Penafiel, won first place in the Grand Group category, with a Gold mention and unanimous judges' favourite, and was named the Best Grand Group of the competition (The Beat Overall), earning an invitation to The Beat convention. Additionally, dancer Andy Rakotoarison won the award for Best Grand Group Dancer of the competition. Adding to these distinctions, the MegaCrew DMA had the privilege of opening for Fouki's performance.
The YoungSteez troupe (Hip-Hop) from DMA, under the artistic direction of Andy Rakotoarison, secured second place in the Pre-Competitive Small Group category, with a Diamond mention as the judges' favourite.
The Newbreez troupe (Street-Jazz), under the artistic direction of Liette Dionne, captured first place in the Grand Group category, ages 10-12, Novice, with a Gold mention and judges' favourite.
The Beauteez troupe (Contemporary), under the artistic direction of Samantha Harvey, achieved fourth place with a Gold mention.
The awards for our competitive solos and duos are as follows:
In the Duo category, Camille Penafiel and Jade Da Ponte, choreographed by James Dhaïti and Yannick Moisan, took first place with a Diamond mention and received 2 judges' favorite awards.
In the Solo category (Contemporary), Maeva Morier, choreographer and performer, secured first place with a Diamond mention, 2 judges' favorite awards, and an invitation to The Beat convention. She also won the title of Miss The Beat, awarded to the best soloist of the competition.
Continuing in the Solo category (Contemporary), Emma Samson, choreographed by Amélie Larrivée, placed second among 11 participants with a Silver mention and a judges' favorite award.
Lastly, Salomé Dagenais Requesens impressed with her contemporary solo, choreographed by Clara Oliver, by winning first place with a Diamond mention.
The dancers from Danse Mode-Action showcased their talent, creativity, and passion in their performances, which were recognized with the numerous awards they received at this competition.
