Essential Guide for Parents: Everything You Need to Know About Our Dance Camp at DMA

Danse Mode-Action is delighted to welcome you to our summer dance camp for children aged 5 to 12. We have prepared an exciting week filled with dance, learning, and fun. In order to ensure that you are fully prepared, we would like to provide you with all the necessary information before the camp begins on July 10th.

Dates and Schedule: The summer dance camp will take place from Monday, July 10th, to Friday, July 14th, 2023. The camp will run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. We encourage you to arrive a little earlier for the start of classes so that your children can prepare and get acquainted with their fellow campers. Full schedule: available here.

Childcare Service: We understand that some parents may require additional assistance regarding childcare. That's why we offer a one-hour childcare service before and after each camp day. You can drop off your children as early as 9:00 am and pick them up as late as 5:00 pm. Please note that there is an additional fee of $25 + taxes per hour for this service.

Camp Description: Our summer dance camp provides young dance enthusiasts with a unique opportunity to explore different styles such as hip-hop, contemporary, and street-jazz. Under the guidance of our experienced and enthusiastic instructors, your children will also receive lessons in basic technique, choreography workshops, and freestyle dance sessions to develop their creativity and self-confidence. We believe in creating a supportive and safe classroom environment for all enrolled children. Our qualified teachers, Élodie Fortier, Salomé Dagenais-Requesens, and Chloé Amable, will ensure that every child feels supported and encouraged throughout the camp. France Dionne will be present as the camp director.

Additional Activities: In addition to dance classes, we have planned recreational activities to allow children to bond with each other and foster teamwork. Craft workshops and outings to Jarry Park are scheduled to provide children with an entertaining and enriching experience.

Studio Showcase: We believe that your children's progress deserves to be shared and applauded. That's why we are organizing a studio showcase at the end of the week. This showcase, following the theme of the week, will be an opportunity for your children to proudly demonstrate what they have learned to parents and guests. We hope that you can all attend to celebrate your children's achievements.

Here's a special bonus for our registered students: a Danse Mode-Action t-shirt for each participant! We will provide them upon their arrival at the camp. Please ensure that your child comes to camp each day with the following items: Water Bottle: It is important to stay hydrated throughout the day. We encourage your children to bring their own water bottles so they can regularly quench their thirst.

1. Lunch: Your child will need the energy to dance and have fun all day. Please make sure to provide them with a healthy and balanced meal for lunch. We recommend including fruits, vegetables, proteins, and nutritious snacks. No nuts, peanuts, fish, or shellfish should be included in the lunch boxes.

2. Sports Shoes: To ensure the safety and comfort of your children during dance classes, please provide them with appropriate sports shoes. Lightweight shoes with good grip are ideal for facilitating movements and minimizing the risk of injuries.

3. Sportswear: Comfortable and flexible clothing that allows them to move freely. Leggings, shorts, and T-shirts are recommended.

Outdoor Excursions: When we go outside, it is necessary for participants to wear a hat or cap and apply sunscreen on their own for outdoor activities.

Medication Administration: If your child needs to take medication during their camp stay, please hand over the medications to the responsible staff at the reception on their first day, along with a completed and signed medication administration form:

Minor Incidents: In the event of a minor incident at the camp, a formal incident report will be completed, and appropriate care will be provided. You will be informed of the situation when you come to pick up your child at the end of the day or, if necessary, by phone during the day.

Epinephrine Auto-Injector (Epipen): If you have indicated on your child's health form that they have an Epinephrine auto-injector (Epipen), please bring it along with a photo of your child. If you have a portable case such as a fanny pack at home, we kindly ask you to bring it with you to the camp.

Major Incidents: In the event of a major incident, the camp staff will provide necessary first aid, and you or the designated emergency contact person will be contacted immediately. If necessary, your child will be taken to the hospital. Once reached, the parent or designated person will need to take over promptly. Ambulance transportation costs and healthcare expenses are the responsibility of the parents.

We would like to remind you that registrations are still open. If you have friends or relatives who are interested, feel free to recommend our dance camp to them.

We are committed to providing a safe and positive environment for your children, where they can thrive and develop their passion for dance. Our team will ensure that each child is supervised and well-cared for throughout the camp.

The Danse Mode-Action team is excited to share this experience with your children. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.
